The Red Bull team, undefeated so far this Formula 1 season, had to bow to its rivals for the first time this year. Max Verstappen, who previously recorded a record ten consecutive victories, finished only fifth at the Singapore Grand Prix. A dramatic end to the race saw Ferrari's Carlos Sainz win. The 29-year-old Spaniard triumphed in the night race at the Marina Bay circuit, beating McLaren's Lande Norris by just 812 thousandths of a second. Third place went to Lewis Hamilton.
