Hülkenberg est un cas similaire à celui de Magnussen. Lui aussi semblait disparaître de la F1 pour de bon. Après avoir quitté Renault en 2019, il a perdu son poste de pilote permanent. Il a participé aux saisons 2020 et 2022, mais uniquement en tant que remplaçant pour Racing Point et Aston Martin. Cependant, il revient définitivement en 2023, en remplaçant Mick Schumacher chez Haas. Il tentera de décrocher, entre autres, son premier podium, ce qu'il n'a jamais pu réaliser, ne serait-ce qu'une fois, lors de ses 181 précédents départs.
