L'année dernière, le tout premier Chinois en F1 a montré que son potentiel n'était pas que du marketing. Il a marqué un total de six points en courses, et sa rapidité de qualification était souvent meilleure que celle de son coéquipier Bottas, plus expérimenté. Cette année, il cherchera à tirer parti de l'expérience de l'an dernier.
